All members of Childcare Queensland are:
Participants in the accredition process of the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC)
NCAC is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Quality Assurance (QA) Systems for family day care schemes, outside school hours care services and long day care centres across Australia. The QA Systems are an initiative of the Australian Commonwealth Government and aim to ensure that children in care have stimulating, positive experiences and interactions that will foster all aspects of their development. The QA Systems do this by defining quality childcare, providing a way to measure the quality of care provided by the service and identifying areas for ongoing quality improvement.
Independently Licensed and Regulated by the Queensland Government
All members operate under the Child Care Act 2002 and Child Care Regulations 2003. Additionally, centres are inspected on a regular basis by Queensland Government Resource Officers.
Flexible and Child-Focused
The increase in demand for childcare services reflects the changing and diverse needs of Australian families. Private long day childcare centres offer flexible services to meet the needs of families, including full-time and part-time care for children aged 6 weeks to school age, vacation care and before and after hours school care.
Staffed with Qualified, Professional Carers
Qualified and experienced staff assist in the emotional, intellectual, social, physical and creative development of your child. Our centres also ensure that parents receive constant feedback on their child's progress.
Supportive Environments
Our centres provide a safe, secure and caring environment for children that support and nurture the individual needs and requirements of each child. Our childcare centres support the development of a child's social skills through interactions with other children, thus encouraging independence and building self-esteem.
Offer Sound Educational Developmental Learning Values
Childcare Queensland member centres implement growing bodies of research which prove the importance of early childhood learning and development. Our association of professional privately owned centres, in conjunction with the relevant State and Federal bodies, has developed programmes that focus on a platform of innovative learning experiences and sound educational values.
Eligible for Child Care Benefit
Private long day childcare centres are eligible for the means-tested Federal Government Child Care Benefit allowing all socio-economic groups affordable access to quality childcare. The Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a subsidy provided to approved long day childcare centres, family day care schemes and occasional care services. The subsidy is used to reduce the amount that parents are required to pay in fees to the centre. |
